Privacy Policy

BrazilianFunk.com is an independently operated music directory. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

Contact form submissions. When you use our contact form we collect the name, email address, enquiry type, subject and message you provide, plus the time of submission. We use this only to read and respond to your enquiry.

Administrator accounts. Site administrators sign in to manage the directory. Their authentication data is handled by our backend provider and is never exposed publicly.

Technical logs. Our hosting and backend providers process standard request data such as IP address and browser user agent for security, abuse prevention and reliability.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, and we do not require an account to browse the site. The directory itself works without you providing any personal information at all.

Third parties

Artist links point to Spotify. When you follow one, Spotify’s own privacy policy and cookies apply — we have no control over and no visibility into what happens after you leave this site. We use Spotify’s public web API to retrieve artist metadata such as official profile URLs; this happens server-side and involves no personal data about you.

Our site is served by a hosting provider and our data is stored with a managed database provider. Both process data on our behalf under their own security terms.

Cookies and browser storage

We ourselves set no tracking cookies. Your browser may store functional preferences — the music player’s volume, mute and stop choices — in local storage on your own device. These are never transmitted to us. The Google AdSense script described in the Advertising section below is loaded on every page and Google may set or read its own cookies when it runs. See our cookie policy for details.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Google AdSense advertising technology is used on this website: Google’s official AdSense script (publisher ID ca-pub-3907712830422560) is loaded on every page. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and similar technologies for purposes including ad delivery, measurement, frequency control, fraud prevention and, where permitted, advertising personalization.

The presence of Google AdSense technology does not mean that a display advertisement appears on every page — the site currently displays no advertisements and no ad units are active. If and when advertising is enabled, its availability will depend on the site’s advertising configuration, page eligibility, your consent choices, geographic requirements and Google’s systems. Where advertising does appear, it may be personalized or non-personalized depending on those factors — not every visitor receives personalized ads.

Where required by applicable law — for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland — advertising-related storage and personalized advertising will be subject to consent choices collected through a Google-certified consent solution before any personalized advertising is shown, and this policy will be updated before that change goes live. You can read how Google uses data in its partner-sites policy and manage your ad personalization choices in Google’s My Ad Center.

Retention and your rights

Contact submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. You can ask us at any time for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.

To make a request, use the contact form and select “Privacy enquiry”. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
